Heaven is God’s home.
It is filled with love, joy and peace that will never end.
In Heaven
There is no sickness, pain or hunger.
In Heaven
There are no wrongs.
No one ever lies to another.
No one ever takes advantage of another.
No one suffers from anxiety, depression, or any other burden we face in this life.
In heaven
everyone is whole and complete.
In heaven,
no one dies.
“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
John 14:1-3
Unfortunately, the path into heaven was broken by one thing…
Sin
in the lives of humankind
blocks people from entering heaven.
Beginning with the sin of the First Family,
mankind continues
its wrong behavior.
The presence of Sin
in the hearts and minds of people,
is reflected in the works of the flesh, which are:
adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like.
Because of sin
our hearts are no longer clean.
God is perfect in all His ways.
He is perfectly good and perfectly clean.
Since nothing unclean can ever enter heaven,
then only those with a clean heart and conscience can enter heaven.
On our own, we can never make our hearts clean.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
Because God loves us
and wants us with Him in heaven,
He sent His Son, Jesus Christ,
to do what no one else could.
God’s Son, Jesus Christ,
came to the earth in the form of a man,
to speak with His creation.
Jesus Christ came to teach us the ways of life and in the process, He lived a perfect life.
Offering up His life willingly, Jesus became the sacrifice that atoned for our sins.
With His life, Jesus Christ paid the price we should have paid for our unclean hearts.
Because Jesus is perfect and lived a perfect life, He could not die,
as a result, He rose up from the grave on the third day.
His resurrection was witnessed by many and with many convincing proofs.
Because of what Jesus Christ did
our hearts can now be made clean again.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
I would like to remind you that you will not be judged by what overcomes you.
Each of us will be judged by what we do with Jesus Christ while we live in the flesh.
Do we believe in Jesus Christ and accept what He did on the cross or not?
Will we allow Him to live in us and through us?
God has now made it easy for us
Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one shall come to the Father but by Him. John 14:6
To have a clean heart and eternal life with him.
"if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved."
Romans 10:9
We must admit to God that we have sinned
remember...when we ask Him to forgive us, He will forgive us.
We must also believe that Jesus died on the cross to be punished instead of us.
And we must invite Jesus Christ into our hearts to help us live life the way He intended.
Are you not sure where to start? I remember the first time I prayed. It was awkward. Let me share a sample prayer that will get you started.
A Prayer to Begin with
Father God, I know that I am a sinner. I know there is nothing I can do to save myself.
Please forgive me for my sins and the things I have done wrong.
I believe that Jesus Christ is your Son and that He came to the earth to live a perfect life and to offer up His life willingly on a cross to pay the price for sin that I owed, so that I could have eternal life with you.
I accept His gift of salvation.
Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and live with me forever. Teach me your ways.
Try me and know my heart. And may I bring all the honor and glory to you.
In Your name, Lord Jesus.
Amen.
When our hearts have been cleansed, then we will be filled with God’s Holy Spirit.
And we will show the fruit of His Spirit in our lives,
which is, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
After we accept Jesus Christ and His death on the cross, then when God looks at us, He does not see the wrongs we have committed. He sees His Son, Jesus Christ, and what He did for us. Now we are “in” Jesus Christ. As a piece of paper in a book cannot be seen from the outside, neither can we, in our failures, be seen outside of Jesus Christ.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith."
Romans 1:16-17
When our relationship with Jesus Christ has been established,
then like Him,
we have become children of God.
God is now our Father in heaven.
Now that God is our Father,
when this life is over,
we will enter God’s home in heaven,
where the streets are paved with gold.
Once we enter heaven,
the battle with sin that we have struggled with for so long,
will be over.
All the regrets for words misspoken
and times we chose darkness over light
will become distant memories
swallowed up
in the splendor and magnificence
of life
that God wanted for us from the beginning.
Every burden we carry whether it is physical, emotional, or spiritual, will be lifted from us and never allowed to bother us again. We will be perfectly complete and filled with joy in a home and life that can only get better with time.
Living in heaven is the pinnacle of life
and should be the peak of our desires
even if it costs us everything to get there.
The choice is so simple.
CHOOSE Jesus Christ Today.
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.
There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:4
At the moment this life ends
and we enter heaven,
then we will be in the place we always wanted to be,
Doing the things we always wanted to do
With the people we always wanted to be with.
While we are waiting for our time to enter heaven and be with God,
let us spend our days getting to know Him
and see how we may help others on their journey through life.
Jesus Christ says to us today,
“Abide in Me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
John 15:4-5
Regarding life and the things we need on a daily basis, Jesus reminds us to,
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33
Do your best to read or listen to God’s word, the Bible, every day.
Learn to pray always.
And remember, it is God who planted you.
You have been created by God.
you are here for a reason.
In His eyes, you are eternally important.
He loves you deeply.
And Jesus came and spoke to them saying,
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
